Why I Love Pakistan/Patriotism

Only a blind can realize the value of sight and a deaf can understand the significance of hearing. Similarly, William Wordsworth thinks that only he, who is away from his native land can understand that how sweet I feel to breathe in the air of native land.

“I travelled among unknown lands,

Even beyond the sea, Nor England did,

I have no more tell them, what I love more”.

Our native land is Pakistan, in whose lap we are born. We nourish and flourish there and like our ancestors, are laid to rest beneath its soil. Therefore, it is obliged to us to love our country passionately like our mother and let no other love to take its place. We must use all our energies and services for its prosperity and progress. We must sacrifice for our beloved country because it is a true patriotic spirit. As some-one has wisely said,

“Do not ask what country has done for you,

Ask yourself, what you have done for your country.”

Pakistan is my dear homeland. I love my country more than my material things. Many still remember the place and I also where I first sought my happiness, where I played and where we promised to be loyal to our country. I am a true patriot because,

“A true patriot always loves and sacrifices for his Country”.

Secondly, I like it because it is an Islamic state. All the Muslims of the sub-continent launched a titanic struggle to get this homeland where they are free to act upon Islamic teachings. All the Pakistanis believe that Islam is patriotism. Once, Quaid-e-Azam said,

“Whatever else you may be, whatever you are,

You are a Muslim, and this land now belongs to you.”

Thirdly, I love Pakistan because it is a land of great statesmen, warriors, artists, poets, etc, Quaid-e-Azam, Allama Iqbal, Major Aziz Bhatti, Doctor Abdul Qadeer and many more have been there. I always believe in Thomas Paine’s saying:

“The world is my country, all mankind are brethren,

and to do good is my religion.”

Its people are free. They prize their freedom most. They are the main power in the whole world. It is therefore our duty to love it. The people of Pakistan can sacrifice their life to defend their country against any foreign invasion. They believe in wallop's saying that

“It is a sweet thing to die for one's country.”

I like Pakistan for its historical buildings like Badshahi Masjid, Tombs and Shrines. They glimpse to our cultural heritage. The beautiful and enchanting scenery of Kaghan, Naran, Murree, Kalar Kahar attract thousands of foreigner each year. As it is rightly said,

“The beauty of old buildings lies in the stories,

they hold within their walls.”

For the above given reasons, it is our foremost duty to protect ideological and territorial boundaries of our country. Today, our country is at a crucial state. Its ideological and territorial boundaries are in harm from both internal and external aspects. There we all should give up obnoxious (hateful) and prejudice of Sindhi Balochi, etc and think in terms of Pakistan and last. Without a patriotic spirit, we are just like dead. As, it is rightly said,

“Breaths there a man with soul so dead,

Who never up to himself hath said,

This is my own, my own native land.”
