She uses imagery (similes) in her poetry. In this poem, she also uses imagery and describes two opposite aspects of wind. As it is rightly said, “I can't change the direction of the wind. But I can adjust my sails to reach my destination.” At first, wind is presented as a demon (an evil spirit) which destroys and demolishes every beautiful and elegant thing. She says that wind in the form of storm smashes everything mercilessly.
