Miracles of Science/Blessings of Science

"Science is nothing but perception."

Science is an organized knowledge, which deals with the generalization of laws that govern the principles of nature and of mind. The curiosity of man always galvanizes him to think and ponder over the everlasting creativity of Allah, the nature, and to control and manage all the resources of earth by dint of an organized knowledge articulated by himself, which we call science. As, Huxley has said,

“Science is nothing but developed and organized common sense.”

Today, progress is the product of science. It has become the crying need of every country. The solidarity of economic system of any country depends on science, without scientific knowledge, the existence of a country is at risk. The present era is an era of scientific knowledge; the modern civilization is purely a scientific one. The man has achieved all these hallmarks through his efforts and imaginations.

“Every great advance in science has issued from a new audacity of imagination.”

In fact, the religion enriches man with confidence and imagination. No doubt man has revealed many secrets of the universe by dint of scientific knowledge but he has enabled to win such victories over nature by the dint of confidence and faith bestowed on him by the religion. As Albert Einstein explains the same fact,

“Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.”

The most remarkable manifestation of the revolution of scientific knowledge is the machine. Twentieth century is the age of machines. They are all around us at our beck and call. They have flooded our markets with hundreds of consumer goods. They have placed at our disposal a number of time and labour saving machines. As it is rightly said,

“In consequence of inventing machines,

men will be devoured by them.”

         Today, when domestic servants are nowhere to be seen, machines have rendered their services to the serving women and housewives. They clean their homes, cook their food, freeze and store their eatables. Moreover, machines have a widespread use in offices. The calculators, intercoms, typewriters, mobiles and computer have proved very helpful and accurate for office work. Photo-state machines give us a copy in no time. Computers help us to store huge data in them. No doubt, machine is the order of the day. As a philosopher says;

“He that invents a machine augments of the power of man

 and the welfare of mankind.”

Electricity has rendered numerous services to man. It has removed the darkness of houses and streets. It has lessened the hardships of housewives. It helps us in various ways. The freezers keep our food eatable and fresh for a long time, heaters keep our rooms hot while vacuum cleaners keep our houses clean. All this is possible by the help of electricity.

Without electricity, there can be no art.

Man cannot be thankful to science for demolishing the barriers of distance. It is no less than miracle that the people of the continents are brought together. The carts and horses are replaced by buses. The long distances which were covered in the past in months and years are covered within a few minutes and hours. No doubt, man is indebted to the favour of science, but all this is possible only through the efforts of man that will surely go to an infinite way. As some-one has wisely said,

Ambition is the path to success.

Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in.

Television, radios and computers are another manifestation of the scientific progress achieved by man. They are a great source of information and entertainment. They keep us well informed with modern news and world affairs. They keep us aware of social and regional trends. Cinemas are the source of wonderful entertainment for us. As it is rightly said,

“Television is an anesthetic for the pain of the modern world”.

Science has alternated the human sufferings and has saved him from many harmful diseases. In olden times, a number of people died of diseases like cholera. T. B. etc. Now-a-days they have been eliminated. Infantile (Childish) death was a great problem but it has almost been eradicated by dint of scientific progress in health department. The discovery of vaccine and antibiotics has brought a revolution in human life. As it is rightly said,

“Money cannot buy health,

but I‘d spend diamonds for wheelchair.”

Telescopes have enabled us to observe the planetary movements and the outer planets and study the changes of life on them.

On the whole, the advent of scientific and technological progress has brought a revolution in all the spheres of life. It has made their lives more comfortable and in fact much more certain than it was ever here. In short, the use of scientific knowledge has enabled us to reach the peak of human greatness more knowledge for the betterment of mankind and for the glory of man. As it is wisely said,

"Science is organized knowledge.

Wisdom is organized life."
