A
Man of Words and Not of Deeds
Q. 1. What happens when life is spent
with the help of words and not of deeds?
Ans. Life becomes painful and useless for the person himself and for the
society at large. One cannot serve the nation without pragmatic approach
towards life. If life is full of words only, it is just like weeds making the
garden barren.
Q. 2. What is the condition of the garden
when the weeds start growing?
Ans. The garden is like snow in winter when weeds can be seen
everywhere. In snow, everything becomes dull and no vegetation is possible.
When there is only talk all around no construction is possible. The talkative
person resembles weeds that are impedimental to growth.
Q. 3. What is the difference between the
life of words and that of action?
Ans. Life full of words brings dullness which proves fatal to human
life and life full of action brings prosperity and happiness.
Q. 4. What do you understand by “A man of
words and not of deeds, is like a garden full of weeds”?
Ans. The poet says that a man who gossips a lot without any practical
work is like a wild plant that grows automatically. It needs to be uprooted
immediately because it stops the growth of flowery plants.
Q. 5. Why does the poet use “a garden
full of snow”?
Ans. The poet uses the word snow because it symbolizes difficulty. In
winter snow, no constructive work is possible.
Q. 6. What is the message of the poem?
Ans. The poem gives us a
message that we should involve ourselves in some sort of creativity instead of
sitting idle. Dullness proves fatal for human life.
