Rubaiyat

Q. 1. What is faith according to Allama Iqbal?

Ans. Iqbal says that the Muslims should have faith like Hazrat Abraham. Muslims should seek guidance from God in every matter.

Q. 2. What does Iqbal call those who have no faith?

Ans. Iqbal says that they are worse than slaves who have no faith.

Q. 3. What according to Iqbal does blend with Islam's fire?

Ans. According to Iqbal, music of strange lands blends with Islam's fire.

Q. 4. What is the condition of Europe?

Ans. The people of Europe have become hollow. They do not have civilization. They lack spiritual faith.

Q. 5. What has departed from the Muslims?

Ans. Love's madness has departed from the Muslims.

Q. 6. Describe the miserable plight (trouble) of the Muslims.

Ans. The Muslims have lost the true spirit of Islam. They lack in love for mankind. They have lost their unity. Their prayers have no meaning and their feelings are superficial.

Q. 7. Point out the two factors which according to Allama Iqbal are the downfall of the Muslims. (L.B. 2007)

Ans. According to Iqbal, lack of true love of God and unity are the two factors which are the causes of the downfall of the Muslims.

Q. 8. What has made the efforts of the Muslims fruitless?

Ans. Faithlessness has made the efforts of the Muslims fruitless. They have lost harmony and become selfish.

Q. 9. What is the Moral lesson of “Ruba'iyat”?

Ans. Iqbal urges upon the need of strong faith. He says that the Muslims have the traditions of their forefathers. If they want to prosper, they should have strong faith like Abraham (A.S).

Q. 10. What does Allama lqbal emphasize in his “Rubaiyat”? (L.B. 2010)

Ans. Allama Iqbal urges upon the need of strong faith. He expresses his regrets upon the miserable condition of the Muslims. He gives historical example of Hazrat Abraham (AS) that he came out of fire because he had firm faith in Allah. The Muslims have forgotten the traditions of their forefathers so they are perplexed and worried.
