Short Key of Active Passive

Basic Three Changes

                             i. Object ----------------- Subject

                             ii. 3rd Form of Verb

Songs were sung by girls.

A thief was not caught by people.

Gardener was watering the plants.

Was, were + being + 3rd from

The plants were being watered by gardener.

6.

Had + 3rd form -----------------------------------

We had offered Eid prayers.

Had + been + 3rd form

Eid prayers had been offered by us.

7.

Will, shall + 1st form ----------------------------

I shall get scholarship.

Will, shall + be + 3rd form

Scholarship will be gotten by me.

8.

Will, shall + have + 3rd form ------------------

They will have eaten mangoes.

Will, shall + have + been + 3rd form

Mangoes will have been eaten by them.

9.

1st form + Object. --------------------------------

Open the window.

Let + Object + be + 3rd from.

Let the window be opened.

10.

Do not + 1st form + Object. --------------------

Do not tease him.

Let + Object + not + be + 3rd form.

Let he not be teased.

  3) Method of Imperative Sentences Recognition : - The reported speech of these sentences always starts with 1 st form of verb. These sentences show the sense of order, advice, request or forbidden (forbade) Changes:- i)           At the place of “said or said to” write ordered, advised, requested or forbade” according to the sense of the sentence. ii)        At the place of “commas” write “to”. iii)      Tense is not changed.
