Imperative Sentences

Recognition:      1st Form of Verb

                                            

Method of Changing (Active voice into Passive voice)

Active:      1st Form of Verb + Object.

          Open the door.

Passive:    Let + Object + be + 3rd form.

          Let the door be opened.

Method of Negative Sentence

Active:      Do + not + 1st Form of Verb + Object.

          Do not waste your time.

Passive:    Let + Object + be + 3rd form.

          Let your time not be wasted.

  3) Method of Imperative Sentences Recognition : - The reported speech of these sentences always starts with 1 st form of verb. These sentences show the sense of order, advice, request or forbidden (forbade) Changes:- i)           At the place of “said or said to” write ordered, advised, requested or forbade” according to the sense of the sentence. ii)        At the place of “commas” write “to”. iii)      Tense is not changed. Ø   Change of pronoun, tense and certain words occur according to the Method .
