Past Perfect Tense

Recognition in Urdu:       چکا تھا،  چکی  تھی،  چکے تھے    


Method of Making/Changing into P.V

 Active: Subject + had + 3rd form + Object.

          They had won a match.

Passive: Object + had + been + 3rd form + by + Subject.

          A match had been won by them.

Method of Negative Making

Active: Subject + had + not + 3rd form + Object.

          They had not won a match.

Passive: Object + had + not + been + 3rd form + by + Subject.

          A match had not been won by them.

Method of Interrogative Making

Active: Had + Subject + 3rd form + Object?

          Had they won a match?

Passive: Had + Object + been + 3rd form + by + Subject?

          Had a match been won by them?

Neg: Dog had not caught a rabbit.

A rabbit had not been caught by dog.

Neg: Teacher had not taught us English.

 the fort.

The fort had not been occupied by
