KINDS OF PRONOUN
1. Reflexive Pronouns:
The
pronouns which are used to show that the action is done by the subject are
called Reflexive Pronouns, such as,
·
I hurt myself.
·
You hurt yourself.
·
He will hurt himself.
·
She will hurt herself.
·
The horse will hurt itself.
2. Demonstrative Pronouns:
The pronouns
are used to point out the objects to which they refer are called Demonstrative
Pronouns, such as, this, these, that, those.
3. Indefinite Pronouns:
The pronouns
which refer to persons or things in a general way, but do not refer to any particular
person or thing, are called Indefinite Pronouns, such as, some, someone,
somebody, something, one, any, many, every, everybody, everyone, everything,
Anything, anyone, anybody,
4. Distributive Pronouns:
Each,
either, neither are called Distributive Pronouns because they refer to
persons or things one at a time. For this reason, they are always singular and followed
by the verb in the singular.
5. Relative Pronouns:
The pronouns
which are used to relate the first part of the sentence to the second part of
the sentence are called Relative Pronouns, such as,
who,
which, whose, whom, what, when, why, how and where,
·
I know the woman whose child was hurt.
·
This is the girl who stood first in the class.
·
These are the colour pencils which I want to buy.
6. Interrogative Pronouns:
The pronouns
which are used to show the sentence as interrogative are called Interrogative
Pronouns, such as, who, which, whose, whom, what, when, why, how and where,
(A question mark is put the end.)

book is this?
·
Who is
she?
·
Which
book do you want to buy?
