Television Vs Newspapers

English Paragraph No 1

News coverage over television is different from reading newspapers. Newspapers were primarily established to cover the news and later on they added entertainment. On the other side, television was mainly invented for entertainment and then it became effective news medium. Now television news has become a powerful rival to newspapers. Though both of these mediums cover the news effectively, there are distinct differences in the way they do it.

Urdu Translation

1۔           ٹیلی ویثرن پر خبر کا نشر ہونا،  اخبارات پڑھنے سے مختلف ہے۔ابتدائی طورپر،  اخبارات کو خبر نشر کرنے  کے لئے  قائم کیا گیا اور  بعد میں،  اُن میں تفریح کا اضافہ  کردیا گیا۔   دوسری طرف،  ٹیلی ویثرن  کو خاص طور پر تفریح کے لیے ایجاد کیا گیا ،  پھر یہ خبر کا مؤثر ذریعہ بن گیا۔  اب ٹیلی ویثرن کی خبر اخبارات کی طاقتور حریف بن گئی  ہے۔ اگرچہ،   یہ دونوں ذرائع خبر کو مؤثر طور پر نشر کرتے ہیں،  لیکن  ان کے ایسا کرنے کے طریقہ کار میں  نمایاں فرق  ہے۔

English Paragraph No 2

Newspapers do not require us to sit at a place and read the news. Busy people may read the paper anytime of the day. They may read the news that is important to them early in the morning, and carry the paper with them to read in the bus or van. They may also choose to omit certain aspects of the news that they are not interested in.

Urdu Translation

2۔           اخبارات ہم سے ایک جگہ پر بیٹھنے اور خبر پڑھنے کا تقاضا نہیں کرتے ہیں۔  مصروف لوگ دن کے کسی بھی حصے میں   اخبار پڑھ سکتے ہیں۔ وہ اپنے لئے اہم  خبرکوصبح سویرے  پڑھ سکتے ہیں اور بس یا وین میں اخبار  پڑھنے کے لیےاپنے ساتھ لے جا سکتے ہیں۔ وہ خبر کے اُن خاص پہلوؤں ، جن میں وہ   دلچسپی نہیں رکھتے  کو نظر انداز کرنے کا بھی انتخاب کر  سکتے ہیں۔

English Paragraph No 3

Television, on the other hand, requires its viewers to be at a certain place, at a certain time in order to watch and listen to the news. If they are busy people, they will miss the news. They cannot choose to read it on the move or throughout the day. They cannot even choose which piece of news they wish to skip. One way could be to record it and watch it later.

But the point here is that it is not that convenient.

Urdu Translation

3۔           دوسری طرف،ٹیلی ویثرن اپنے ناظرین سے خبر دیکھنے اور سننے کے لیےایک مخصوص وقت اور  جگہ پر ہونے  کا تقاضا کرتا ہے۔ اگر وہ مصروف لو گ ہیں تو اُن سے  خبر رہ جائے گی۔   وہ اسکا چلتے پھرتے یا  سارا دن پڑھنے  کا بھی انتخاب نہیں کرسکتے۔حتیٰ کہ،   وہ اس کا بھی انتخاب نہیں کرسکتے کہ  خبر کے کون سے حصے  کو چھوڑنا ہے۔  ایک طریقہ ہوسکتا ہے کہ اسے ریکارڈ کرلیا جائے اور بعد میں دیکھا جائے۔  لیکن یہاں پر  نقطہ  یہ ہے کہ یہ  اتنا اطمینان طلب نہیں ہے۔

English Paragraph No 4

Television brings laziness in us. We can view the news with a little or no effort since it is practically a form of entertainment. If we have the leisure time, we can view the television news anytime of the day and night. It broadcasts the news as it is happening. Much mastery of language is not necessary for the person who prefers to view the news on television because everything is visual and auditory. A person with a basic knowledge of the broadcast language will be able to view and understand it. In comparison, the reader of a newspaper needs to be proficient in the language in order to understand it better.

4۔           ٹیلی ویژن ہم میں سستی پیدا کرتا ہے۔  ہم  تھوڑی سی  یا  بغیر کوشش کے  ٹیلی ویژن  پر خبر دیکھ سکتے ہیں،  چونکہ یہ عملی طور پر تفریح ہی کی ایک قسم  ہے۔ اگر ہمارے پاس فارغ وقت ہو تو ہم دن اور رات کے کسی بھی حصے میں  ٹیلی ویثرن پر خبر دیکھ سکتے ہیں۔  یہ   خبر واقع  ہونے کے ساتھ ہی  اسے نشر کردیتا ہے۔ اس شخص کے لئے جو ٹیلی ویثرن پر خبر دیکھنے کو ترجیح دیتا ہے،  زبان  پر  زیادہ مہارت کی ضرورت نہیں ہوتی ہے ، کیونکہ ہرچیز سمعی اور بصری ہوتی ہے۔ نشر کی جانے والی  زبان کا  بنیادی علم رکھنے والا شخص اسے دیکھنے  اور سمجھنے کے قابل ہوتا ہے۔ اس کے  برعکس، اخبار کے قاری  کے لئے  اسے بہتر طور پر سمجھنے کے لیے زبان پر مہارت کی  ضرورت ہوتی ہے۔

English Paragraph No 5

Although television can give us the most updated news and visuals, newspapers can give us more in-depth coverage. Editorials and column writers can give us their expert views and analysis that we can digest slowly as we read them. Many people also opt to read more than one newspaper a day so as to get different viewpoints of the story and to check for its validity. Readers can also give feedback to the articles by writing to the forum pages. Viewers of television news do not have this luxury as the news flies too fast for any feedback to be relevant.

5۔           اگر چہ ٹیلی ویثرن ہمیں تازہ تریں خبراور  بصری مواد دے سکتا ہے۔ اخبارات ہمیں زیادہ گہرائی  میں خبر دیتے ہیں۔ادارئیے اور کالم نگار ہمیں اپنی ماہرانہ رائےاور تجزیئے دے سکتے ہیں۔جنہیں ہم پڑھنے کے  ساتھ  آہستہ آہستہ سمجھ سکتے ہیں۔ بہت سے لوگ ، کہانی کے متعلق مختلف نظریات اور اس کی درستگی  کے بارے  میں جاننے کے لئے،  ایک دن میں ایک سے زیادہ اخبارات پڑھنے کا انتخاب  کرتے ہیں۔ پڑھنے والے قارئین   کے صفحات کے لیے مضامین لکھتے ہوئے، اپنی رائے بھی دے سکتے ہیں۔ ٹیلی ویثرن کے ناظرین  کے لئے ،   یہ سہولت  میسر  نہیں ہوتی ہے،  کیونکہ خبر کے متعلق کسی قسم کی رائے قائم کرنے سے پہلے یہ بہت تیزی سے گزر جاتی ہے۔

English Paragraph No 6

Each medium has strengths that the other does not. Each makes use of strong points that the other lacks. Television news is like having a fast food meal whereas reading newspapers is like having a ten course dinner. The ideal seems to be, if one has the time, both read the news and watch it on television.

6۔           ہر  ذریعہ اپنی ایک  طاقت رکھتا ہے جو  دوسرا نہیں رکھتا ہے۔ ہرذریعہ مضبوط نکات  کا استعمال کرتا ہے، جس کی دوسرے میں کمی ہوتی ہے۔ ٹیلی ویثرن کی خبر جلد پک جانے والا کھانا  کھانے کی مانند ہے،  جبکہ اخبارات پڑھنا،  دس قسم کے مختلف  کھانے کھانے کے مترادف ہے۔ مثالی یہ دکھائی دیتا ہے کہ اگر کسی کے پاس وقت ہو تو وہ  خبر پڑھ بھی سکتا ہے اور اسے  ٹیلی ویثرن پر بھی دیکھ سکتا ہے۔
