KINDS OF PREPOSITION
i) Simple Prepositions:-
The
prepositions which are commonly used or used as single are called simple
prepositions, such as, at, by, for, form, in, off on, out, through, till, to
up, with.
ii) Compound
Propositions:-
The
prepositions which are generally formed by prefixing a prepositions to a Noun,
an adjective or an Adverb, are called compound prepositions , such as , about,
above, across, along, amidst, among, amongst, around, before, behind, below,
beneath, beside, between, beyond, inside, outside, underneath, within, without.
ii) Phrase
Prepositions:-
The
Prepositions which are used group of words to force it are called phrase
prepositions, such as, according to, in addition to, in place of, by dint of,
in order to, with regards to, etc.
The Articles
The words “a” or “an” and “the” are called
Articles. They usually come before nouns.
Kinds of Articles
i. Indefinite Articles:- A or an is
called Indefinite article because it used with common singular person or things
and leaves the person or thing common, A doctor: It means any doctor. A is used
with a word which gives beginning the sound of consonants, such as, A boy, A
women, A yard, A hole, A university, A union.
An is used with a word
which gives the begging sound of vowel, such as, An ass, an enemy, an orange, an
umbrella, an hour, an honest man, an heir.
ii.
Definite Article:- The is called definite article because it is used with
particular person or thing.
(It is also used with common noun to
make it proper noun, such as,
I saw the doctor. (It
means a particular doctor.)
