Write a letter to your uncle/friend/brother telling him about your annual college sports.
Examination Hall,
A.B.C. (City)
May 26, 2023.
Dear Uncle/Friend,
Asslam-o-Alaikum!
With great
blessings of Allah Almighty, I am enjoying sound health and hope that the same
case will be with you because,
“Health and good state of body are above all
goods.”
I could not reply your letter earlier as I was busy in
my annual sports of my college. You always encourage me to take part in physical
activities, because they are good for mind and body. As some-one has rightly
said,
“A sound
body has sound mind.”
Our annual college sports day started last Thursday
and continued for three days. Students participated in their cherished sports.
I participated in hockey and badminton and practised for them. As it is wisely said,
“Hockey is a man’s game. The team with
most real men wins”.
On the first two days, many matches of hockey, badminton,
lawn tennis, basketball and football were played with other entertaining sports
items. Students supported the teams of their classes and enjoyed a lot. As
some-one has rightly said,
“All work
and no play makes a jack dull boy.”
The opening ceremony of the day started with three
miles long race. I also took part in it and won second prize. There were also
karate demonstrative fights and exhibition of gymnastics. As, it is rightly
said,
"Sports do not build character. They reveal
it."
On the third day, at the end of
sports, the guest of honour gave away the prizes to the winners. We celebrated
all the three days of annual sports with full zeal and zest. As some-one has
rightly said,
“Don’t go through life without goals”.
If you were here, you also enjoyed it. Pay my regards to all at home.
Yours
affectionately,
X. Y.

Dear Uncle/Friend,
Asslam-o-Alaikum!
With great
blessings of Allah Almighty, I am enjoying sound health and hope that the same
case will be with you because,
“Health and good state of body are above all
goods.”
I could not reply your letter earlier as I was busy in
my annual sports of my college. You always encourage me to take part in physical
activities. It is the effect of your encouragement that I take equal interest
in sports and studies because it is a healthy activity for mind and body. As some-one
has rightly said,
“A sound
body has sound mind.”
Our annual college sports day started last Thursday
and continued for three days. There was not teaching during the tenure of this
colourful event. All the students looked active, fresh and ambitious. There were
a number of events which amused the audience. Students participated in their
cherished sports. I participated in hockey and badminton and practied for them.
As it is wisely said,
“Hockey is a man’s game. The team with
most real men wins”.
On the first two days, many matches of hockey,
badminton, tennis, basketball and football were played with other entertaining
sports items. Students supported the teams of their classes and enjoyed a lot. As
some-one has rightly said,
“All work
and no play makes jack a dull boy.”
The hurdles race, sack race, and slow-cycling race
provided a lot of fun to the spectators. The opening ceremony of the day started with
three miles long race. I also took part in it and won second prize. My friend
Nasir took part in long race and won 1st prize. There were also
karate demonstrative fights and exhibition of gymnastics. As, it is rightly
said,
"Sports do not build character. They reveal
it."
Boys jumping through burning rings
were extraordinarily commented by the gathering.
Another
interesting affair was the three legged race. The competitors took part in the
race in pairs.
The
inner legs of each pair were tied together.
