Write a letter to your friend/cousin/neighbour giving him an idea of life in your town.

Examination Hall,

A.B.C. (City)

May 26, 2023.

          Dear Friend/cousin/neighbour,

Asslam-o-Alaikum! With great blessings of Allah Almighty, I am enjoying sound health and hope that the same case will be with you because,

“Health and good state of body are above all goods.”

Thank you for giving a detailed description of your countryside in your recent letter. Life in my town is busy though not as busy as the life of a big city. There are peak rush hours in the early morning and mid-day because of schools and college going students. As it is rightly said,

“Hold a book in your hand and

You’re a pilgrim at the gates of a new town/city”.

Vegetables and fruits markets are also crowded early in the morning. Hawkers and shopkeepers buy vegetables and fruits from wholesalers to sell in different areas of the town. As some-one has rightly said,

“A great town/city is not to be confounded with a populous one.”

There are twelve branches of banks where people deposit utility bills beside usual money transactions. There is a railway station. Many people travel by trains daily to access their work places. As, it is wisely said,

“A town/city is a large community where people are lonesome together”.

My town is surrounded by agricultural land, orchards and forests. Peasants cultivate different kinds of crops throughout the year. They grow sugarcane, maize, wheat, rice and cotton. As some-one has rightly said,

“Success as result of industry is the peasant ideal.”

Many labourers of my town work in bicycle and motorcycle manufacturing factories, cement plants, textile mills, flour mills and sugar mills. As some-one has rightly said,

“No human master piece has been created without great labour.”

Many visitors come to visit my town for business purposes and enjoy its beautiful surroundings. As it is wisely said,

“The city is not a concrete jungle, it is a human zoo.”

People go to bed early and after 10 p.m. no remarkable activity is seen in my town with the exception of a few restaurants and marriage hall. As it is wisely said,

“One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.”

Pay my compliments to uncle and aunt.

Your loving friend/cousin/neighbour,

X. Y. Z.

Write a letter to your friend/cousin/neighbour giving him an idea of life in your town.

Many students from nearby village also come to my town to take education from college. As it is rightly said,

“Hold a book in your hand and

You’re a pilgrim at the gates of a new town/city”.

They use bustle cars, rickshaws, motorcycles, bicycles and buses. There is a fodder market on one side of the town. It always is crowded with donkey carts, bull carts, trucks and tractors that are carrying fodder for cattle.

There is a railway station where eight trains stop for picking and dropping passengers. Many dwellers of my town work in nearby cities. They travel by trains daily to access their work places. As, it is wisely said,

“A town/city is a large community where people are lonesome together”.

My town is surrounded by agricultural land, orchards and forests. Nature is quite open, abundant and generous. Peasants cultivate different kinds of crops throughout the year. They grow

sugarcane, maize, wheat, rice and cotton. They use tractors, thrashers and other modern agricultural machinery. As some-one has rightly said,

“Success as result of industry is the peasant ideal.”

However, those who lack funds use traditional methods of growing crops. Two canals pass through my town, which irrigate soil of a lot of villages. My town has many shopping centers, malls, schools, colleges, factories, mills and parks. Many labourers of my town work in bicycle and motorcycle manufacturing factories, cement plants, textile mills, flour mills and sugar mills.

As some-one has rightly said,

“No human master piece has been created without great labour.”

Usually they ride their bicycles to go to their work place. There are parks on both side of canals, where people gather in the evening to relax. Children play different games in excitement in this pleasant atmosphere. Many visitors visit my town for business purposes and enjoy its beautiful surroundings. As it is wisely said,

“The city is not a concrete jungle, it is a human zoo.

X. Y. Z.
