Letter No: 21

Letter for Normal Students

Write a letter to your father/mother explaining to him/her the cause of your failure in the examination.

 Examination Hall,

A.B.C. (City)

May 26, 2023.

          Dear Father,

Asslam-o-Alaikum! I received your kind letter two days ago. I am very happy to learn that all of you are feeling well. You have asked me about my health which is very precious for everyone. As it is rightly said,

“Health is wealth.”

Last month, I promised you to get more than 85% marks in the first term exams but I couldn't even score the passing marks. I feel that that I should inform you about the causes that led to this failure. As it is wisely said,

“It is requires more courage to suffer than to die.”

In fact, as I have told you in my previous letter, that I had been suffering from dengue fever for two weeks. Unfortunately, it caused weakness. As it is rightly said,

“It is fortune, not wisdom that rules man’s life.”

Consequently, it affected my preparation for exams and then my result. I didn't tell you then because I didn't want to worry you. As some-one has wisely said,

“What is defeat? Nothing but education,

Nothing but first step to do something better.”

Please, don't get worried about my studies as I am fully recovered now and paying my full attention on the coming exams. I will show you good results. As some-one has wisely said,

“Failure is the teacher and preacher,

that leads you to the better way .”

Pay my regards to all at home and love to youngsters.

Yours affectionately,

X.Y. Z.

          Dear Father,

Asslam-o-Alaikum! I received your kind letter two days ago. I am very happy to learn that all of you are feeling well. You have asked me about my result and health which is very precious for everyone. As it is rightly said,

“Health and good state of body are above all goods.”

I think that you would have received my result card by now and I know, it must be really disappointing for you. Last month, I promised you to get more than 85% marks in the first term exams but I couldn't even score the passing marks. I feel that that I should inform you about the causes that led to this failure.

As it is wisely said,

“It is requires more courage to suffer than to die.”

In fact, as I have told you in my previous letter, that I had been suffering from a severe viral infection. It was an eye infection and the patient needs to wear dark glasses till he recovers. Unfortunately, it was contagious (infectious) and I got it from a friend before exams. As it is rightly said,

“It is fortune, not wisdom that rules man’s life.”

Consequently, it affected my preparation for exams and then my result. I didn't tell you then because I didn't want to worry you. Moreover, my papers of Physics and Chemistry were set out of course. This obviously hampered (affected) my efforts. As some-one has wisely said,

“What is defeat? Nothing but education,

nothing but first step to do something better.”

Please, don't get worried about my studies as I am fully recovered now and paying my full attention on the coming exams. I will show you good results. As some-one has wisely said,

“Failure is the teacher and preacher,

that leads you to the better way .”

Pay my regards to all at home and love to youngsters.

Yours affectionately,

X.Y. Z.
