He Came to Know Himself

Q. 1. For what purpose has man been alighted from heaven in Sachel’s opinion?

Ans. In Sachel’s opinion, man has been alighted from heaven to spread love everywhere.

Q. 2. How can we know ourselves?

Ans. If we want to know ourselves, we should have a clear view of God before us.

Q. 3. When does a person involve in God’s love?

Ans. A person involves in God’s love, when he seeds and does not give much importance to his worldly life.

Q. 4. Why does the poet put emphasis on how to know himself?

Ans. The poet puts emphasis on how to know himself because he is a true mystic. The philosophy of mysticism teaches us that there is no other way of knowing oneself except inculcating the true love of Allah in our hearts. If we want to know ourselves we should only have a clear view of Allah before us.

Q. 5. What makes one entangled in love?

Ans. A person entangles in love of Allah only when he feels that he should know the purpose of his creation. He observes the mysteries around him and wants to know the cause of creation of this universe. The quest for truth makes him entangled in love.

Q. 6. Why did Mansur mount the gallows?

Ans. Mansur mounted the gallows because he was so deeply involved in the love of Allah that he started saying, “I am Allah”. He became mad in his love and reached a point where he was unable to differentiate between Allah and himself. People could not understand his spirit out of which he was saying so and punished him.

Q. 7. What is the bare truth?

Ans. The bare truth of this life is the transient nature of everything in this world. This is a temporary set up for an eternal life. The poet gives us a message here that Allah in the guise of His true lovers comes for some time on earth. This is the bare truth that he always speaks. Love is the force with which two souls can be united and this is the philosophy of mysticism.

Q. 8. What is the poet saying about His Sojourn in this world in the last line?

Ans. The poet explains the truth of life to us that Allah in the guise of His true lovers comes for some time on earth.
