Sultan Ahmad Mosque

English Paragraph No 1

The Sultan Ahmad mosque is one of the most impressive monuments in the world. It is also known as Blue Mosque because of the blue tiles that embellish its interior. Situated in Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey and the capital of Ottoman Empire from 1453 to 1923, it has become the most popular tourist attraction.

Urdu Translation

مسجد  سلطان احمد دنیا کی انتہائی  متاثر کن یادگاروں  میں سے ایک سے ہے۔ اس کےاندرونی حصے میں نصب  نیلی ٹائیلوں کی وجہ سے یہ نیلی مسجد کےنام  سے بھی جانی جاتی ہے ۔ترکی کے سب سے بڑے شہر استنبول میں واقع ہونے کی وجہ سے،  جو1453 سےلے کر 1923 تک سلطنت عثمانیہ کادارالخلافہ رہا  ہے۔  یہ  سیاحوں کی کشش کے لئے بہت زیادہ مشہور ہو  گئی  ہے۔

English Paragraph No 2   

It was constructed between 1609 and 1616, during the rule of Ahmad I. As was the custom, this mosque like other mosques of the time, comprises a tomb of the founder, a madrassah and hospice.

Urdu Translation

یہ سلطان احمد اول کےدورحکومت میں، 1609 اور 1616 کے درمیان تعمیر کی گئی۔ جیسا کہ،  رواج تھا ،  یہ مسجد اس وقت کی دوسری مساجد کی طرح اپنے بانی  کے  مزار ، مدرسے اور مسافر خانے پر مشتمل ہے۔

English Paragraph No 3

       Construction of the mosque started in 1609. The royal architect Sedefhar Mehmat Aga, was appointed by the Sultan as in-charge of the project. The opening ceremony was held in 1616. Unfortunately, the Sultan could not see the completion of the mosque in his life. It was completed in the reign of his successor Mustafa I.

مسجدکی تعمیر1609 میں شروع کی گئی ۔ شاہی فن تعمیر کے ماہرصدفہر محمت آغا کوسلطان نےاس منصوبے کانگران مقرر کیا۔ اس کی افتتاحی تقریب 1616 میں منعقد کی گئی۔  بد قسمتی سے، سلطان  اپنی زندگی میں مسجد کی تکمیل  کو نہ دیکھ سکا۔ اسکی تکمیل اُس کے جانشین مصطفی اول کے دور حکومت میں مکمل ہوئی۔

      English Paragraph No 4

Blue Mosque reflects the architectural style of both Ottoman mosque and Byzantine church. Hagia Sophia, a mosque, one of the wonders of Muslim architecture was also kept in view as a model. Blue Mosque even today is considered unmatched in splendour, majesty and size.

Urdu Translation

نیلی مسجد ، مسجد عثمانیہ اور باز نطینی گرجا دونوں  کی فن طرزتعمیرکی  عکاسی کرتی ہے۔ مسلمانوں کی شاندار فن تعمیرات میں  سے  ایک حاجیہ صوفیہ مسجد کو بھی اس کے نمونے کے طور پر مدِنظر رکھا گیا ۔نیلی مسجد کو حتیٰ کہ،  آج بھی اپنی شان وشوکت ،عظمت اورجسامت کے لحاظ سے بے مثال سمجھا جاتا ہے۔

English Paragraph No 5

       The mosque has a spacious forecourt surrounded by a continuous vaulted arcade. It has ablution facilities on both sides. In the centre, there is a fountain which is rather small in contrast with the magnitude of the courtyard. A heavy iron chain hangs in the upper part of the court entrance on the western side. This side was meant for the Sultan alone. The chain was put there so that the Sultan had to lower his head every time he entered the court. It was the symbolic gesture to ensure the humility of the ruler in the face of the divine.

مسجد کا مسلسل گنبد نما محرابوں سے گھراہواایک وسیع  صحن ہے۔ اس کے دونوں اطراف وضو کرنے کی سہولیات موجود ہیں۔ اس  کےمرکز میں ایک فوارہ ہے،  جو صحن کے حجم  کے لحاظ سے  قدرے چھوٹا ہے ۔  مغرب کی طرف،  صحن کے داخلی راستے کےبالائی  حصے میں ، ایک بھاری لوہے کی زنجیر لٹکی ہوئی ہے۔  یہ جگہ صرف سُلطان کے لیے مخصوص تھی۔ زنجیر  وہاں  پر اس لیے لٹکائی گئی تھی  تاکہ سلطان کو  ہر بار اپنے سر کو جھکا کر صحن  میں داخل ہونا پڑے۔یہ خدا کے سامنے حکمران کی  عاجزی  (انکساری) کو یقینی بنانے کا ایک علامتی اشارہ تھا۔

English Paragraph No 6

       The interior of the mosque at the lower level is lined with more than 20,000 hand-made ceramic tiles in more than 50 different tulip designs. At gallery level the design becomes flamboyant with representation of flowers, fruit and cypresses.

Urdu Translation

مسجد کے اندرونی حصے کی نچلی سطح پر،  50 سے زیادہ  گل لالہ کے نمونے والی،  20 ہزار سے زیادہ ہاتھ کی  بنی ہوئی چینی کی ٹائلیں لگی ہوئی ہیں۔ گیلری کی سطح پر،  پھولوں ،پھلوں اورسفیدے کے  درختوں کی نمائش کے ساتھ نمونے  اورزیادہ چمکدار بن جاتے ہیں۔

English Paragraph No 7

       The upper level of the interior is adorned with blue paint. More than 200 stained glass windows with intricate designs allow natural light to brighten up its interior and the chandeliers further illuminate it with their glow. The decorations include verses from the Holy Quran. The floors are covered with carpets.

Urdu Translation

اندرونی حصے کی بالائی سطح نیلے رنگ سے سجائی گئی  ہے۔ پیچیدہ نمونوں کے ساتھ،  دوسو سے زیادہ  دودھیا شیشوں والی کھڑکیاں،  اس کے اندرونی حصے کو منور کرنے کے لئے  قدرتی روشنی  کو اندر آنے دیتی ہیں اور فانوس  اپنی چمک دمک سے اسے مزید روشن کرتے ہیں۔ سجاوٹوں میں، قرآن پاک کی آیات شامل ہیں۔فرش قالینوں سے ڈھانپے گئے ہیں۔
