(Paragraph No 36)

چودھری اسلم کا دوست بڑی مدت کے بعد ملنے کے لیے آیا۔ اس نے محسوس کیا کہ چودھری غمگین معلوم ہوتا ہے۔ اس نے پوچھا :

چودھری صاحب کیا بات ہے۔ اداس کیوں رہتے ہو؟

چودھری: کوئی خاص با ت نہیں۔

ایوب: خاص نہیں تو عام سہی، آپ بے چین کیوں ہیں؟

چودھری: دنیا میں چین کسے ہے۔ نہ دن کو چین نہ رات کو آرام۔

ایوب: دنیا آپ سے متفق نہیں۔ یہ انسان کی کم ہمتی ہے جو اس کو مایوس کر دیتی ہے۔

English Translation

Chaudhry Aslam’s friend came to see him after a long time. He felt that Chaudhry looked sad. He asked,”Chaudhry sahib! What is the matter? Why do you look sad?”

Chaudhry, there is nothing special. 

Ayub: "If there is nothing special, let it be something general. Why are you so restless?”

Chaudhry: who is at ease in this world? Neither there is rest in the day nor at night.

Ayub: the world does not agree with you. It is the lack of courage which makes a man disappointed.

یہ سردیوںکی ایک رات تھی ۔ہم سورہے تھے یکا یک کسی نے دروازہ کھٹکایا ۔میں اور میرے والد اٹھ بیٹھے ۔ ہم نے سوچا یہ کوئی چور ہوگا۔ اس لیے ہم نے بندوق لی۔ اور دروازے پرآگئے ۔ میرے والد نے پوچھا "دروازے پر کون ہے؟ " جواب ملا میں ایک غریب آدمی ہوں اور بھوکا ہوں۔ ہم نے دروازہ کھولا ۔ اس کو اندر لے آئے اور کچھ کھانے کو دیا۔ اس نےہمارا شکریہ ادا اورچلا گیا۔

English Translation

It was a winter night. We were sleeping. Suddenly, somebody knocked at the door. My father and I got up. We thought that it would be a thief. So, we took up the gun and came to the door. My father asked,” who is at the door?” The answer was, “I am a poor and hungry man.” We opened the door, got him in and gave him something to eat. He thanked us and went away.

اب مڈل تک تعلیم مفت ہو گئی ہے۔ اب غریبوں کے بچے بھی تعلیم حاصل کر سکیں گے۔ حکومت پاکستان نے کالج اور سکول اپنے کنٹرول میں لے لیے ہیں۔ ملک میں ہر شخص کو برابر کے حقوق ہوں گے۔ حکومت ذہین  بچوں کو وظائف دے گی۔ وہ اعلیٰ تعلیمی اداروں میں تعلیم حاصل کر سکیں گے۔ ہم نیا اور مضبوط پاکستان بنائیں گے۔ ہمیں ملک کی ترقی کے لیے کوشش کرنی چاہئے۔

English Translation

Education up to the middle standard has become free now. The children of the poor will also be able to get education now. The government of Pakistan has taken the colleges and schools under its control. Everybody will have equal right in the country. The Government will grant scholarships to the intelligent children. They will be able to get education in higher educational institutions. We shall build new and strong Pakistan. We should make an effort for the progress of our country.

آمنہ  میرے بچپن کی دوست تھی۔ اکٹھے کھیلا پڑھا۔ پھر میری ایف ۔اے کے بعد شادی ہو گئی اور میں اپنے میاں کے ساتھ لندن چلی گئی۔ آمنہ نے آگے پڑھا   یا اس کی شادی ہو گئی مجھے کچھ خبر نہ ملی۔ جب میں پانچ برس کے بعد وطن لوٹی تو ایک روز بازار میں اچانک آمنہ کی بڑی بہن سے میری ملاقات ہو گئی۔ میں نے بے تابی سے آمنہ کے متعلق پوچھا تو ان کی آنکھوں میں آنسو تیرنے لگے۔ میرا گھر نزدیک ہی تھا۔ میں ان کو اپنے ساتھ لے آئی تا کہ اطمینان سےوہ  مجھے آمنہ کے بارے  میں کچھ بتا سکیں۔

English Translation

Amna had been my friend since childhood. We played and studied together. Then, I got married after F.A. and left for London with my husband. I knew nothing whether Amna studied further or she got married. When I returned to the country after five years, one day, by chance, I came across Amna’s elder sister in the market. When I asked her about Amna impatiently, the tears came to her eyes. My house was quite near. I took her with me so that she might tell me something about Amna with peace of mind. 

(Paragraph No 40)

صدرنے ادیبوں، شاعروں، دانشوروں، مفکروں اور عالموں پر زور دیا ہے کہ اپنی ادبی تخلیقات کے ذریعے ملک کو اسلامی اور فلاحی مملکت بنانے میں حکومت کی مدد کریں۔ صدر گزشتہ روز ایک کتاب کی تعارفی تقریب میں شاعروں اور ادیبو ں کے بہت بڑے اجتماع سے خطاب کر رہے تھے۔ 

English Translation

The president has stressed upon writers, poets, intellectuals, thinkers and scholars to help the government in making the country an Islamic and welfare state through their literary works. The previous day, the president was addressing a large gathering of poets and writers, in the introductory ceremony of a book.
