The King and the Spider

As, some-one has rightly said,

“Success is achieved by those who are determined

And by those who try and keep on trying.”

Robert Bruce was the king of Scotland. He was very brave. He fought many battles against

the English to win freedom for his country. Unfortunately, every time his army was defeated.  When he met with defeat for the sixth time, he was so disappointed that he decided never to face the enemy again. But some-one has wisely said,

“Success lies under continuous hard working without losing hope”.

He went to a jungle and hid himself in a cave. There, he saw a spider trying to reach its cobweb in the ceiling of the cave. It tried for several times but failed to reach its cobweb. The king was watching all this with curiosity. He was sure that the spider would give up its efforts but the spider started moving again towards its cobweb and this time, it succeeded in its efforts. As, some-one has rightly said,

“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up.

The most certain way to succeed is to try once more.

This gave a new hope to the king. He said to himself,

“If a small spider can succeed by trying again, why should I not?”

Now with a great determination and courage, he gathered his army again and launched a fierce attack against the enemy and this time, he was able to drive the British out of Scotland. As, some-one has rightly said,

“Fortune always favours the brave.”

Try, Try Again

The King and the Spider

As, some-one has rightly said,

“Life is an action, not contemplation.”

Continuous efforts lead towards the desired achievements. If one fails to achieve one's goal, one should not be disappointed. One must keep on trying until one reaches one's destination. The following story indicates the truth of the above statement. As, it is wisely said,

He went into a jungle to save his own life. There he found a cave and hid himself in it. When he was thinking about his defeats lying in the cave, he saw a spider trying to reach its cobweb in the ceiling of the cave. It tried for several times but failed to reach its cobweb. The king was watching all this with curiosity. He was sure that the spider would give up its efforts but, he was surprised to see that the spider started moving again towards its web and this time, it succeeded in its efforts.
